redoorsONE of the most popular items currently on the new home and renovation market are bi-fold doors, now available in aluminium and timber and they look great in both.

Their most attractive feature is the ability to fold back and instantly boost the size of a space, making one room out of two, or extending a room into an external space, such as a courtyard, excellent for warm-weather entertaining.

Fold them out again and you return to the smaller, intimate spaces suitable for cold winter days or for separating family activities.

Bi-folds are popular with renovators of properties built during periods when open-plan was out of fashion.

They can be made to fit most spaces and are generally available in sizes ranging from two leaves to six hinged leaves. Beyond that, some suppliers will construct combinations as a custom job.

The weight of the doors is borne by the top beam, the bottom rail is there simply as a guide track.
