I WILL admit it; I was one of the sceptics, unsure if the ferry service would really return.
But here she is, Aurora V, available for us all to see, hear, touch and, of course, travel on.
It’s been a long journey for Aurora V to finally get to her new home in Wallaroo.
She has encountered numerous obstacles, but after being battered by terrible weather she made her way up the gulf last Wednesday.
She looked pretty as a picture all lit up for her first sleepover at Wallaroo on Wednesday night.
Her arrival was without much fanfare, but there has been a buzz of excitement about town.
The ferry could again bring more tourists to the region and boost the local economy.
I plan to make a journey on Aurora V soon.
Although it is expensive, it’s about the experience and will also save fatigued driving as well as wear and tear on the car.
It takes a lot to earn trust and Sea SA still needs to prove it is here for the long haul.
The company needs to get back into marketing itself and promoting its service.
On the other hand, if we want the ferry to stay we need to also show our support.
The voyage is not within everyone’s budget, if you can’t afford it, you could still promote the ferry to friends and family, particularly visitors and tourists.
