Your View: Calendar Girls fabulous

HEARTY congratulations to the Maitland Music and Arts Club for producing a fabulous piece of local theatre, Calendar Girls.

It was a bonzer performance of Tim Firth’s script. A mixture of courage, pluckiness, poignance and cheekiness (in every sense of the word).

Brava to the wonderful women who produced their very own calendar — discerningly refined and capturing real women, celebrating life and the female form.

Hearty congratulations to the YP Country Times for their pluckiness in placing a fabulous image from the calendar (December) on the cover of the May 1 edition.

The background narrative to the play is poignant and so relatable, I don’t know anyone left untouched by cancer, and seeing that bold and respectfully captured image on the cover was a smart move – validating and affirming real women are beautiful and strong women.
