Your View: Monarchy

ROBERT Menzies and others established the Liberal Party of Australia as a right-of-centre, free enterprise political party bringing in the then disparate non-Labor parties of the post-war era.

Within five years, he led it to success as the first new Liberal government in this country.

None of the 18 parties involved in the formation of the Liberal Party would ever have had any truck with socialist, or Labor-light, policies.

Unlike the Turnbull government, the Liberal Party of Australia was a monarchist and patriotic party, believing in Queen and country.

If the prime minister wants to emulate the days of Robert Menzies, then he should give up his pursuit of a republic and become a proper Menzies Liberal.
