Councils welcome Wakefield project

COUNCILS have welcomed the state and federal government’s $90million plan for dual lanes and an overpass at Port Wakefield.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack confirmed the joint federal and state government project, to be complete by 2022, in Port Wakefield late last month.

The federal government has committed $72m and the state government will provide $18m.
