Early childhood educators waging war for better pay

ABOUT 7000 Australian early-education workers plan to walk off the job this Wednesday in the sector’s biggest ever strike.

Local staff will not strike, but are fighting for better pay for private-sector early-education workers, who generally earn significantly less than primary teachers.

The Independent Education Union of Australia is campaigning for better wages for early-childhood teachers at the Fair Work Commission.
