YP Council plans 11.8% increase for ag land

FARMERS in the Yorke Penin­sula Council district face an 11.8 per cent rate increase for primary production land.

Residential rates will increase 4.2 per cent while the fixed charge will remain unchanged at $410, after elected members adopted the draft annual business plan at last Wednesday’s meeting.

The plan is now out for consultation, and the rating model caused intense debate amongst councillors.
