NAPLAN testing starts across state

MORE than 80,000 South Aus­tralian students are taking part in National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy from today, and about 18,500 will take the test online for the first time.

“NAPLAN is a useful tool which helps schools identify how well a student is doing so teachers can ensure each child is getting the most out of their education,” Minister for Education John Gardner said.

“It is important to recognise NAPLAN is one of a range of tools used to measure individual student performance, enabling teachers to put in place the right supports for any student who is falling behind.
