CYS students recognised for bravery

THREE Central Yorke School, Maitland, students have been recognised for bravery after being involved in the attempted rescue of a woman at Black Point in January.

Liam Dodd and Seth Mitchell, both 15, and Jarrod Tucker, 16, were presented SAPOL certificates of appreciation by Maitland Brevet Sergeant Nathan French and Constable Jen Winen on Wednesday, March 28.

Liam, Seth and Jarrod were kayaking when they found a 71-year-old Rostrevor woman floating face down in the water on Monday, January 22.
