The EPA tells council to clean up waste

COPPER Coast Council has been forced to clean up areas of waste near the Wallaroo Resource Recovery Centre.

The Environment Pro­tection Authority identified issues with council’s storage of oil drums and spilt oil, and management of its green waste area, during recent inspections.

A scheduled December inspection of the centre found a small number of oil drums around the bunded oil recycling area and minor spillage, according to the EPA.
