OUTRAGE AT DATE CHANGE

Yorke Peninsula Council Australia Day event backflip

YORKE Peninsula Council will hold its 2018 Australia Day awards on Friday, January 26, not the day before as had been planned.

Mayor Ray Agnew announced the event would be moved to January 25 last Tuesday but councillors rejected the idea the next evening.

Mr Agnew had hoped a date change would revamp the Australia Day function as a fun day including family activities and information encouraging people to get involved in their communities.
