Travel assistance scheme road blocks

ACCESSING the state government’s Patient Assistance Transport Scheme has become increasingly difficult as new guidelines are causing locals to have their travel claims denied.

PATS provides subsidies to patients who must travel more than 100 kilometres when specialist services aren’t available locally.

When services become available closer to home, people can no longer claim money back on PATS for visiting their regular doctors in Adelaide.
