Pool mural is a work in progress

AS Edithburgh artist Darryl Lewis worked on ideas for a 30-metre mural to be installed around the Edithburgh tidal pool, he knew he wanted to involve the wider community in the work.

The sea-themed mural lent itself to using handprints to form clusters of coral so prevalent in the shallows and reefs surrounding the pool, he thought.

“The plan now is to have the hand print of every Yorketown Area and St Columba’s Memorial School student as well as locals on the mural as the painting is filled in,” Mr Lewis said.
