John Lewis Drive pines to remain

DISTRICT Council of Barunga West debated whether to remove pine trees along John Lewis Drive, Port Broughton, at its April meeting.

Council’s manager of infrastructure services Fred Linke recommended the trees be removed after receiving a complaint about the mess left by pine needles on the road and in gutters.

However, Councillor Margaret Mc­Donald moved to arrange for appropriate pruning of the four problem pine trees.
