THE progress of Sea SA’s new Wallaroo-Lucky Bay ferry, Aurora V, to the Spencer Gulf has been stalled due to bad weather.
The Weather Routing Directorate ordered the Aurora off its course and to haul up in Benowan, near Bali, amidst fears of cyclones developing in its path late last Tuesday, January 24.
The ferry is expected to leave Benowan today (Tuesday, January 31), provided conditions have improved.
With uncertainty about conditions at sea, it is still unclear when Aurora will berth at Wallaroo, according to Sea SA managing director Stephanie Dawson.
“The vessel is coming down the west coast of Australia,” Ms Dawson said.
