THE District Council of Yorke Peninsula has established a community reference group to provide council with feedback about the marine park draft management plans once they are released by the state government.
In his report to council at its meeting last Wednesday, CEO Andrew Cameron said, with local government to play an important role in the next round of consultation, it was prudent to establish a community reference group to provide advice and recommendations back to council.

This, he said, would negate some of the misinformation which can occur during such a process and provide a whole of peninsula consideration to the issues.

“Our council area has four marine parks covering a large area of our vast coastline with significant work already being undertaken by the local advisory groups last year,” Mr Cameron said.
