BIG PLANS... Liberal candidate for Narungga Fraser Ellis and state Liberal leader Steven Marshall at Crash Corner, just north of Port Wakefield, where the party has promised to build an overpass if elected in March.
Solution promised for Crash Corner
THE state Liberal party has pledged $12.1million for an overpass at Crash Corner, just north of Port Wakefield, if it wins the election this March.
The party hopes the federal government will match funding for the overpass, which it claims will be safer and significantly reduce traffic jams during peak times.
The bridge will not bypass Port Wakefield. Instead, it will allow vehicles to travel over the Augusta highway and then merge back in closer to the township.
