Commitment to regional development

PREMIER Jay Weatherill has committed $15million a year for the next 10 years to the state’s Regional Development Fund if re-elected.

The fund, which has so far provided more than $60m in grants to support growth in regions, will also be indexed annually in line with inflation.

The state government increased the Regional Development Fund from $1.6m to $15m per annum four years ago through an agreement with Reg­ional Development Minister Geoff Brock.
