PORT Broughton’s Keith Daniel loves sport and for more than 30 years he has dedicated his time to ensuring others can enjoy sport too.
profileKeith1Mr Daniel, who celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday (Monday, January 9), became involved with the Broughton-Mundoora Football Club as a trainer before joining the Port Broughton Combined Sporting Club Committee in 1981 when the new clubhouse was built.

“I initially started on the committee but after that I was the bar manager for 15 years and I have been the groundsman since 1994,” Mr Daniel said.

“I do water sprinkler repairs, making sure they are working properly, painting, filling up pot- holes, whipper snipping and general maintenance of the grounds.”

Mr Daniel’s interest in the club stemmed from his children. When his son started as a young footballer he took up the position of head trainer, which he did for 19 years.
