LEILANI Perry has Down syndrome but, according to her mother Kim, there’s nothing down about it.
“We call it up syndrome, with kids like Leilani just a joy to be around,” Kim said.
“They are such happy individuals with so much love to give.”
Leilani, 4, has recently started kindergarten, opening up a whole new world of opportunities and experiences.
“The support we’ve received since Leilani started kindy at Minlaton has been overwhelming and it just makes my heart smile,” Kim said.
There was even more reason for Leilani and her family to smile last week when staff, students and parents at the Minlaton District Early Learning Centre supported Dress Up for Down Syndrome Day by holding a special fundraiser and fun morning.
