Major Windara Reef expansion starts
WORK has started on the second phase of the Windara Reef shellfish restoration project just south of Ardrossan in Gulf St Vincent.
The second stage will build on the 1200 square metres of reef already constructed across an area of four hectares, adding 11,000 square metres of reef over 16 hectares.
“That’s an equivalent footprint to 10 Adelaide Ovals,” The Nature Conservancy in Australia country director Rich Gilmore said.
