New lupin varieties for 2018 season

SOUTH Australian and Victorian grain growers will have access to two new high-yielding lupin varieties in 2018.

PBA Bateman and Seednet’s Murringo show promising features and were bred by the Western Australian Depart­ment of Primary Industries and Regional Development and the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries at the Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute.

NSW DPI pulse research agronomist Mark Richard said Murringo is the highest-yielding albus lupin in the eastern states.
