YP farmers are invited to sandalwood workshop

YORKE Peninsula and Mid North farmers interested in producing sandalwood (or native quandong) are invited to attend a workshop in Glenelg on Wednesday, September 20.

The workshop is for people interested in growing sandalwood commercially or as a hobby, and will explore opportunities of forming a growers’ association in South Australia.

Sandalwood producer and workshop spokesperson Edmund Gooden said forming an association would provide opportunities for growers to create a critical mass of product for cost-effective processing.
