REGARDING Dennis Nussio’s letter (YPCT 16-1-18). I agree with Mr Nussio’s logic about Narungga becoming a marginal seat. It livens up debate and makes the aspirant MPs sweat a bit, hopefully igniting some passion, based on compassion and not privilege.
DURING the past 16 years of Labor government, we have seen the downgrading of country hospitals and decrease in medical services. After the failed Country Health Plan of 2008, which proposed the downgrading of 42 country hospitals, the government has continued its neglect of rural health policies by refusing to fund infrastructure projects and equipment replacement, and by hindering the recruitment of the medical workforce.
