Father Pope devotes his life to the church

FATHER Raymond Pope, of Wallaroo, continues to assist church masses at the age of 92, and 26 years after retirement and there’s no dimming his spirit down now.

Fr Pope was ordained in a Sydney seminary in 1948, and has served the Catholic church and various communities for 70 years.

Fr Pope has provided mass throughout Adelaide, Ren­mark, Port Pirie, George­town, Whyalla, Peterbor­ough, Snowtown and Port Lincoln in various roles such as assistant and secretary to the bishop.
