Your View: Fire thanks

MY family and I want to say a heartfelt thank you for the overwhelming support and generosity offered after fire destroyed our home.

We want to acknowledge the local emergency services and police officers who attended, and thank them for their efforts. And also, those who provided us with somewhere to stay and a hot meal, particularly Barb and John, and Tim and Elaine from Moonta Passenger Service.

We have received overwhelming assistance from neighbours, friends and the Moonta and Kadina communities, from people we didn’t even know. We thank you all for your humbling generosity.

A big thank you to staff, families and students of Moonta Area School, the local communities and the Point Pearce Aboriginal Community who have rallied around us and provided support, in the way of fundraising and monetary donations, including clothing, bedding and essentials. I cannot express how much it has helped and meant to us.

We particularly acknowledge Max, a young student from Moonta Area School. Max raised more than $1000 with the support of the school and local communities, which he presented to me at the end of the school term.

Max’s selflessness, his thoughtful and caring nature will forever be remembered. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Max.

The immediate and continued support has been amazing. We really appreciate the generosity, caring and thoughtfulness of everyone.

Alli Sturt and family, Moonta
