WRC analysing drugs using wastewater

WAKEFIELD Regional Council is tracking drug use in local communities by testing its wastewater.

A study conducted at the Port Wakefield, Snowtown, Balaklava and Hamley Bridge plants showed figures well below levels of drugs found in city locations.

Alano Water and UniSA ran the study on council’s behalf.
