Councils meet about rate capping

MORE than 200 mayors, elected members, CEOs and council staff have attended a special meeting in Adelaide to discuss the state government’s proposal to cap rates.

The aim of the meeting was to give attendees all the information available so they could go back to their councils and recommend a position about rate capping.

Councils will need to make their positions known to the Local Government Association of South Australia by Friday, August 3.
