The Cougars’ day was made worse with Chris Langford injuring his wing, leaving the team with one less big-bodied player. They now have only 20. But can the Cougars match it with the opposition when the game opens up and speed becomes a key factor? The Eagles may have exposed a weakness in the Cougars’ game, or maybe just played to the conditions better. Either way there is time for the Cougars to improve on those newfound issues.
Most impressively for the Eagles, their win came without a goal from Scott Mumford. It’s feast or famine for the big fella who still leads the league in goals despite a few days when the ball just does not cooperate with his boot.
