Aboard for launch of HMAS Sydney

PORT Vincent’s Barry Tozer joined past and present naval personnel for the launch of Australia’s newest and final Air Warfare Destroyer HMAS Sydney at Adelaide’s Osborne Naval Shipyard last month.

Barry’s invitation to the launch came courtesy of son Leigh, who worked for a company contracted to ship builders Tech Port Australia.

The name Sydney is one of the most famous carried by an Australian warship, four others having served under the name since 1912.
