Start for local health boards

LOCAL health boards will become fully operational on July 1, 2019. The state government plans to replace the current state Local Health Networks with six regional boards.

Minister for Health and Wellbeing Stephen Wade introduced legislation to support the move in parliament last Thursday, June 7.

Yorke Peninsula’s health needs will continue to be grouped with the Northern area, which includes Balaklava, Riverton, Orroroo, Burra, Clare, Crystal Brook, and Snowtown.
