Enhancing outdoor play at local primary schools

FOURTH-year occupational therapy students Grace McDevitt and Gaye Stevens are working on a community project to increase opportunities for unstructured, outdoor play during break times at local primary schools.

The University of South Australia students are working with the Department for Education and the Northern Yorke Partnership to enhance outdoor play spaces at Bute Primary and Port Broughton Area Schools.

The initiative is a placement component within their final year of study and aims to engage with the community to explore, promote and develop meaningful children’s play.
