Yorke Peninsula Council approves Black Point sand carting

BLACK Point Progress Asso­ciation will spend $60,000 addressing erosion along the town’s beach.

Yorke Peninsula Council has approved the association’s request to cart sand, subject to all necessary approvals, to replenish the beach.

The construction of an elevated boat ramp in 2014 interrupted sand flow and caused part of the beach to erode down to clay and bedrock.
