ABOUT 30 people joined this year’s Hands Across the Sand campaign at Gleeson’s Landing, to protest against gas and oil exploration in the Great Australian Bight, on Saturday, May 19.
Formby Bay Environmental Action Group organised the local contingent and also planned a beach clean-up and barbecue.
The campaign aims to highlight the risks involved in deep-sea drilling and similar events were held across the state and nation, calling for Norwegian oil giant Statoil-Equinor to drop its plans.
