Family and regions are important to new MLC

EMILY Bourke used her maiden speech in the South Australian Legislative Council to speak about importance of family and local communities last Thursday, May 17.

Mrs Bourke said she was humbled to represent the Labor Party in the chamber and brought with her a proud connection with regional areas and a strong belief in the value of community.

“A tapestry of lives past and present whose threads cross one another creates a community, linked together by people, not buildings,” she said.
