World War I stories on show

THE details and photos of hundreds of Moonta soldiers who served in World War I will be on display at the School of the Mines.

Volunteers including Kathy Catlow, Lyn Dayman, Lynne Thompson, Robyn Knight, Barb Hartley, Kathy McDonald and Marilyn Philbey have spent hours researching 551 soldiers and two nurses from Moonta for the Anzac to Armistice display.

“Lynne Thompson really drove this project, we thought it would be good to get it out for Anzac Day and have on show until the end of the year, given the town is having a big celebration for the 100th anniversary of Armistice in November,” Ms Dayman said.
