Remembering student patriotism

DURING the World Wars I and II, the efforts of local children were deserving of special mention.

The Children’s Patriotic Fund started in 1915 and, when the need arose again at the start of World War II, the Schools Patriotic Fund was established.

Children across the state, and the country, united in a common cause to find and salvage a range of materials, create items of comfort and organise events.
