Your View: Destroyed environment

THE large trees removed from the carpark between Caltex and the former railway line, Kadina, were planted by grade 4 students from Kadina Primary School at an Arbor Day many years ago.

They were a gift to the school students from the late Marshall Roach, a knowledgeable long-time arborist.

If some trees are possibly going to be planted in the same area (for shade, adding to the pleasant atmosphere trees provide, as well as oxygen), I’d like to know if there are local people who were involved with the original planting. Some discussion is taking place with the Copper Coast Council regarding the possibility they may be asked if they would like to plant a replacement tree, to replace the ambience of previous trees.

The destruction and removal of Kadina trees has saddened residents of our town and harmed the environment.
