Groundwater spill reported to EPA

THE Environment Protection Authority has had a report of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater at a Moonta service station.

An EPA spokesperson said the pollutants were detected in groundwater on and off the 1 Blanche Terrace site.

“It’s understood the site owners are currently in the process of undertaking further assessment into the contamination and will be providing a detailed risk assessment report to the EPA,” the spokesperson said.
