Farmers gain insight about what’s in store

FARMERS and advisors from Yorke Peninsula and surrounding areas had a look into the future, for 2018 and beyond, at the Grains Research and Dev­elopment Corpor­ation’s update at Bute last Thursday, February 22.

Five speakers shared their knowledge of weed control, diseases, mice and automated agriculture with about 80 farmers and agronomists.

Pete Newman from the Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative spoke about harvest weed seed control, focussing on chaff lining as a better option than windrow burning.
