At present it is almost impossible to drive at 50km/h because the corrugations are so bad. Some people drive much faster just to get over the top of the corrugations. This of course causes dust problems, and is dangerous.
In quite a few places along this road walkers, runners, cyclists and cars share the road with the Walk the Yorke trail. It’s a shame they cannot appreciate the real beauty along this road. Instead they have to dodge cars, dust and gravel.
It’s sad Yorke Peninsula Council can’t see the tourist potential of this road. There are so few roads in South Australia were we can drive along and be so close to the sea. Most cars get to our place and use our driveway to turn because they don’t want to go any further along the road.
The re-sheeting of the road has been an absolute failure. In my opinion it’s worse now than it’s been in the 20 years we’ve had our house here.
