Art of central Australia on show

A COLLECTION of privately-owned watercolours and dot paintings on display at Edithburgh provided visitors with a pictorial history of painting by Aboriginal artists from central Australia during the weekend.

Roger Hogben collected the pieces during the 30 years he worked in the Northern Territory.

The exhibition included works by artists taught by the late Albert Namatjira and his followers from the Hermannsburg School.
