Remember to care for your livestock in extreme heat

LIVESTOCK owners are reminded to take special care of their animals during heatwaves.

PIRSA chief veterinary officer Dr Roger Paskin said shade, shelter and plenty of cool water are  key to keeping livestock happy and healthy during the hot weather.

“Animals need a supply of cool water close to the shade, they drink up to double the amount of water in hot weather,” he said.
