Kadina Lions mark 100 years

KADINA Lions Club will celebrate 100 years of serving the community next month.

Past and present members, as well as members of other service clubs, will mark the occasion with a formal dinner at the Wombat Hotel on the same date as the club’s inaugural meeting, Monday, February 5.

The club had 48 members who were determined to make a positive difference within the community when it formed in 1918. Membership peaked in the 1980s with 65 members but despite the club’s long history, numbers are declining as members age.
