SYPBA... Port Victoria, Stansbury close the gap

REPORTER: "NN"

Saturday competition, DIVISION I: The division I ladder has tightened considerably with Stansbury, on 64, and Port Victoria, 65, now only three points away from the top four, followed by Minlaton (67) and Warooka (76) — so there is only one game the difference between third and sixth.

The hot-and-cold Port Victoria scored a much-needed win against Warooka by a narrow two shots and picked up 14 points. Big winners form player Luke Brind, 30-15 against Col Thyer, and the Warooka team skippered by Barry Stokes, 33-18 against David Davies.

Stansbury edged closer to the top four with a win against Port Vincent at Vincent, scoring a 14 pointer, with Malcolm Jennings a big winner against Nathan Marks, 35-14.
