Start mouse reduction strategies at harvest

FARMERS are being urged to take measures during and after harvest to reduce the risk of a mouse outbreak.

Populations are moderate, so farmers should start eliminating food sources for summer to avoid another plague in autumn.

Recent strong winds and hail have knocked grain to the ground and this, plus any grain spilt at harvest, will provide a food source.
