Your View: Unamused interpretation

I READ with grim amusement recent letters from correspondents who apparently have the authority to reinterpret the words from their sacred texts.

Until now I had assumed these words were believed to be the revealed words of their particular gods. Apparently not.

It seems to be dependent on the interpretation of obscure ancient texts by anyone who thinks this will support their viewpoint.

How very convenient that it’s okay to choose which words to ignore, reword, add to or embellish.

I draw to the attention of these correspondents St Matthew chapter 7 verses 1 and 3.

Surely they are plain enough to be understood without added subclauses.
