I HAVE read today (20-11-12) with concern the small article in the YP Country Times which states the District Council of the Copper Coast “may operate golf course” — referring to The Dunes golf course.

RE: Hood-winked (YPCT 13-11-12), about the Hooded Plover signs installed at beaches across Yorke Peninsula last year.

AS a motorcyclist I read with interest about the proposed changes to licensing (YPCT 13-11-2).

I WISH to say a big thank you to two ladies at the Telstra Store Kadina who went out of their way to help me recently.   

ON our usual walk around the Copper Cove Marina on a Sunday morning we discovered the Coopers Alehouse was open for breakfast — just what we were after.

ELDERS has been named the number one real estate operator in Real Estate Business magazine’s top 20 group ranking nationally.

I AM frustrated by signage popping up at every egress/exit point from beaches at the bottom of the peninsula. Whilst I’m all for preservation of any species, these signs depict the Hooded Plover, its habitat, breeding cycle, et cetera.

I RECENTLY attended the 150th anniversary of Wallaroo’s first jetty, run in conjunction with a reunion of the Wallaroo Swimming Club in which the jetty played an integral part.

A PROPOSAL for District Council of the Copper Coast workers to take home the equipment they operate in their everyday work for their own personal use was defeated at the October council meeting.

I CAN’T praise the staff in the emergency ward at Wallaroo hospital enough — all the nurses, ambulance and flying doctor staff who assisted with our incident on November 4 and 5.

THE new parking regulations on Port Road, Kadina, appear to be poorly thought out by the District Council of the Copper Coast.

THE days are getting longer and warmer and spring beckons us towards summer. Many Australian homes are designed for these moments, with large, picture windows and easily accessible decks and patios that connect outside and inside as soon as weather permits.

WHAT were the District Council of the Copper Coast councillors thinking when they voted to create a no-standing zone along Port Road, Kadina, between 8am and 5pm?

SO, the national collection of empty agricultural chemical containers famously dubbed the “drumMUSTER” has exceeded 20 million (YPCT 30-10-12). And some 25,000 tonnes of landfill has been methodically and mercifully avoided through recycling.

IN reply to Dissatisfied customers (YPCT 30-10-12), people make errors, the incident the writer referred to was a human error with a special put up by accident by a new staff member.

MY sister Sandra Paech (from Sydney) and I attended the Wallaroo Swimming Club reunion at the jetty and Wallaroo Football Club rooms on Saturday, October 27, and the next morning at Caffe Mia by the jetty.

I WAS privileged to be a member of the Wallaroo Amateur Swimming Club in the 1950s. It was a very successful club and produced many fine swimmers.

IT’S the sunny days and content smiles of my family that bring me a little happiness.
