Shear delight

A RECORD number of shearers had a crack at taking home the money at this year’s Curramulka Speed Shear competition on Saturday, March 24.

“We had 20 in the open comp which is our best turnout yet, with a further 11 registering for the intermediate section, seven veterans and three women,” Curramulka Com­mu­nity Club president Greg Germein said.

“There were shearers from around the state plus New South Wales and Victoria, plus a number of Australian-based New Zealanders.”
