Jessica’s tribute to her great-great grandfather

HISTORY buff, Yorketown Area School student Jessica Timms, will get the chance to visit areas associated with Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War as a winner of the Premier’s Anzac Spirit School Prize.

All year 9 students were asked to research the experiences of a South Australian serviceman or woman on the Western Front or Middle East as part of the school’s World War I learning.

Jessica’s essay about the life of her great-great- grandfather Walter William Atkinson Fox was one of five chosen to represent YAS in the state-wide competition.
